Suggestions for The Investment Gallery
The Investment Gallery is a community-run, simulated investment portfolio operating on an IG demo account. It mirrors the spirit of the Art of Investing podcast — but with one key difference: every decision is made by the community. Our target is to outperform the Art of Investing portfolio on a weekly basis, with more alpha, more debate, and more collective intelligence.
Community Roles
All roles are rotating and reviewed regularly by the group:
Portfolio Manager(s) — oversee the demo account and execute agreed trades
Research Lead(s) — coordinate weekly stock pitches and due diligence
Meeting Host(s) — chair the Thursday video call
Vote Coordinator(s) — collate and announce Friday votes
Comms Manager(s) — keep the community informed
The Demo Account
The portfolio runs entirely on an IG demo account — simulated funds, real market conditions, zero financial risk. This is a learning and community exercise, not financial advice.
Our Social Platform
The founding group will decide which platform works best — Discord, WhatsApp, Telegram, or a private Facebook Group. Building a dedicated investment-gallery.co.uk website will also be an early priority.
The Weekly Rhythm
Monday — Portfolio changes go live. Fresh week begins.
Mon–Wed — Members submit new stock ideas and pitches
Thursday — Video conference meetup — pitches presented and debated
Friday — Community vote on proposed changes Weekend — Vote results tallied, trades prepared for Monday
How Voting Works
Each member gets one vote per proposed portfolio change. Votes are cast on Friday via the chosen community platform. A simple majority carries the decision. The Portfolio Manager then executes the agreed changes on Monday morning.
